So its been four days of beach worthy hair and the fun has just begun!
Today was a yellow flag day (meaning medium waves--it goes green, yellow, red, double red). I decided it was prime time to head to the ocean. Yellow flag also means great for boogie boarding! So we grabbed our boards and headed to the water.
The first thing I noticed in the water was the amount of seaweed. Think about a ton of sea kelp and the double it, thats how much there was. The waves were crashing on us and shoving seaweed all over us. There is now sea kelp all over my body--I guess I should be grateful I don't have to pay for an expensive spa day?
Anyways, the waves were awesome, so I grabbed the board and rode a particularly large wave all the way in to shore--yeah I'm that rad (I'm bringing this word back, by the way).
On the way back out, another large wave crashed right in my face and the board decided to grow a mind of its own and whack me right in the face. Rude.
I headed back to the beach to spend the rest of the day basking in the sun and enjoying my book (Lamb by Christopher Moore).
For those of you who enjoy studying religions, humor, and just an all-together great story, this book should definitely be on the top of your interests list.
Its about the story of the boy Jesus, told from the view of his best friend Biff. I don't want to give anything away, but it explores Jesus' life from his boyhood through his life, explaining (in Christopher Moore's mind) how he became the Messiah man that is written in the Bible.
If this description sparked your interest, or even if it didn't, I didn't do it justice. Check it out. Its highly entertaining and very thought provoking.
Until next time, happy beaching!
Hah! Why don't they just add another color after Red? Like Purple or Black? Instead let's just do two times the Red! ARGH! Srs-Bizniss!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could hop on my Pirate Ship and Guffaw mightily at your fun in the sun! Hahaha!
*WHACK* "That'll teach you to try and bring 'Rad' back!" said the Large and discontented Wave.
When you said, "Happy Beaching", I immediately had this flash in my mind of "Happy", so I had this image of a big bright smile, and then "Beaching" made me think of Beached Whales.
So I've not got this image of you guys wrangling whales onto the beach, and laughing heartily while doing so!
How Sinister!
All in Good Fun!
Away!
