Shanti: Peace
Put those together and you get an awesome mantra.
So as some may know, I've begun meditation as part of a song analysis class that I have taken (in the past, and again these past few weeks). This class literally changes my life every time. But this time, I think I can actually stick with it.
Living in New York has taken its toll on me, and I haven't been living up to my own personal expectations and desires, so its time for a change.
And meditation (or as I like to think of it an extension of prayer---as is often said, prayer is talking to God, meditation is listening) has helped me to clear my mind, or rather see the thoughts that have prevented me from reaching my full potential; then they are expelled from my mind, and I start over, feeling better about myself and more confident in my talents.
It really is a shame that I have wasted so much time feeling inadequate and unworthy, but I'm so excited to get back to school and start pointing my life in the direction I want it to go.
This all sounds really... oh, I don't know, like this, maybe?:
Well, it kind of is.
And its awesome!
Meditation is something I would recommend to anyone. You can free your mind, listen more fully to what God has to say to you, and direct your mind in the direction that you have your heart set on so that you can live the life you imagine.
Sappy, enough?
It may seem that way, but I've made a list of things to do and not do this year.
I will do MORE of this:
1. Meditation
2. Yoga
3. Exercise
4. Eat healthy
5. Spend time with friends
6. Take time for myself
7. Be more outgoing
8. Believe in myself and in my God-given talents
and
I will do LESS of this:
1. Negative thinking
2. Judging
3. Eat junk
4. Self pity
Sounds like a lot. But I know I can do it!
And you can, too!
So start living your life like you want to! It sounds hard, but its so rewarding!
And as you say at the end of a meditation, NAMASTE (which means, I bow to the highest within, or; the God in me bows to the God in you). We've all got the same God in us. And we all HAVE GOD IN US! Wow, how awesome! So who is to tell us we can't do what we envision?
Get busy living!
